I told you I’d report back if yesterday’s book was worthy. It was.
“When You Reach Me” by Rebecca Stead. I don’t want to tell you what this is about, because I don’t know how without being spoilery, and I really don’t want to give anyone wrong ideas. But it’s AWESOME. I ate it up in a couple of hours. Great summer read for any kid, I think, but there is hard stuff there. Some anger. Some violence. Some (slight) skewed morality (but it’s very tame). I’d let my 9 read it, for sure. But maybe more on my 12’s level, emotionally.
