There are times (okay, all the time) when I just make up a word to fit a situation. But in general, I never, ever want to hear that word used again, because under the kind of stress that causes me to invent words, I am rarely clever.
But this week, I came up with one that I actually like. I have a friend who was in a (okay, let’s not sugar coat this) really humiliating experience. The kind totally out of personal control, but no less horrifying in its shame. (Dramatic, much?)
So I told her I was Symbarrassed.
And now I wonder, is there a real word for that?

Ooo…I like it!
I think it’s a writer’s perogative to invent words whenever they so choose. Especially if they’re as clever as that.

It’s the perfect word (and ’twas perfectly used)–you just need to get a little more famous so they stick it in the Oxford English ala bootylicious
