Wandering

We found the way we like to vacation.

It only took three decades.

Could be the way we like to vacation is “In England,” because that’s where the trip happened. But I think the details will play out elsewhere.

We wandered.

I’m a person in my fifties, and I’ve never been what you’d call spontaneous. I need to know where I’m going to sleep each night, and I need it to be on a bed.

So we had a hotel scheduled for each night (London, the Cotswolds, and Cornwall.) We had a thing or two we wanted to see/do/eat in each general location. But other than that, the trip was left mostly unplanned.

And we wandered.

We wandered London and walked so many, many miles and barely scratched the surface. We wandered rainy treescapes in arboretums and slightly creepy abandoned buildings and the Southwest Coast Path (over and over). We hiked. We moseyed. We dawdled. When we were hungry, we ate. When we were tired, we slept. When we thought about it, we took pictures. And this is the way I want to vacation forever more. In England. On a Wander.
