The Joy Of Staying Home.
I love to be invited. Remember how I just told you this week how I need to be needed? Include me in the invitation.
But don’t underestimate my ability to talk myself out of going somewhere.
Anywhere.
I know I’m not alone in this. The internet has taught me that I’m surrounded by my people (if by “surrounded” I mean only virtually, because we’re all in our own homes, possibly in jammies by 8 pm).
I like a book. I love a movie. I can live without a party.
Did you have fun? I’m so glad. I hope it was everything you needed to recharge, refuel, reconnect. Maybe it’s a flaw, but I do those things better when I’m on my own, in my space, by myself. (I don’t actually believe this is a flaw. I think it’s a factory setting, and I’m FINE with it. Yours can be different than mine. Also fine. Great. It takes all kinds, etc.)
And it’s not like I never go out. I work full time. That involves leaving the house every single day. I have friends who I want/need/crave to see. I love a meal at a restaurant or a film in a cinema or a play in a theater. Once in a while. I’d rather grocery shop than have food delivered (but that might be a control issue, because NO, it’s not okay if you substitute for the specific product I ordered. Go to the next store and FIND it).
But mostly, I like to come home and be home. On the porch or in the back yard or by the fireplace or in my kitchen. (And in jammies by 8 pm, obviously.)
