I (heart) Friday! (Yea, verily.)

November 19, 2010 by becca

Yea, verily, thus saith Becca, It is Friday, and the end of the week approacheth.

Husband returns today from his journeys to the Far East*. And there is much rejoicing.

Kid 1 did sleep the sleep of the teenage girl (from 2.45 a.m. until 5.40 a.m.) as a result of the midnight showing of Harry. No rest for the wicked? Also no rest for the anxiously engaged. However, The Mama? Yea, verily, owing to a deficiency of Good Mother Genes, she did sleep the sleep of the just.

The part of Ginny Weasley will be played by Kid 1

And verily, Kids 2, 3, and 4 watched “My Dog Skip” and there were tears of sadness and frustration. In the main, the tears were related to the predicted (and predictable) outcome of a Dog movie, but perchance some tears were directly descended from “My Dog Skip” having no connection to the above-mentioned Harry. And thus saith The Mama, “No chance you are seeing that Harry movie. Sorry, Pal.”

Yea, verily, the house is in a state of cleanliness. Words do verily appear on document pages. Gifts are wrapped. Clothing is cleansed. The end of the week loometh cheery and snowy in our little family’s future.

And there is much rejoicing.

*Not that far East. Boston. Far enough.

    She makes a great Ginny!

And hey, can we trade lives…just for a day maybe. That sounds awfully sweet.

I’m beginning to think I’m the devil mom. I’m taking all my kids to see it. Someone told me about the nude scenes. (Which have been blown waaayyyy out of proportion) But it’s too late. I already spent forty-some bucks in tickets. So, verily, there will be eye covering going on in that theater.

Boston is pretty far East, actually. Though you can tell him I don’t appreciate that a Wilhite visited my former stomping grounds when I wasn’t living there anymore….

Love it when people use the word “verily” in a blog post. And your daughter looks so cute as Ginny! My big girls saw the midnight showing in their respective cities, and when my oldest got home from college last night, they began a campaign of ‘talking about it but not talking about it’ in front of their 15 year old brother, who, yea verily, was NOT going to see it and then be useless the whole next day. So he’s been uber cheerful all day long…
