9 Reasons Why My Life is Perfect

October 7, 2010 by becca

* I know what is for dinner for the next 5 days.

* I had loads of email this morning. I love email, and I spent more than an hour responding. I love email, did I already say that? Almost as much as real mail, which is such a joy maybe because it is so infrequent.

* I can fix the Big Revisions Issues. Not instantly, but I can do it. I can. I have the tools, I have the talent. (Movie line.)

* I baked with an entire pound of butter last night. Not kidding. Between 7:00 and 9:00 I made crunchy caramel corn and fudge revel bars. Much butter. Much happiness.

* Rosemary Bread. It’s raining, and Octoberish, and I totally deserve it.

* Our friends had an electric dryer in their storage unit. And when they brought it over, plugged it in, and fired it up, it HEATED. We have a working dryer, and my Kids said, “Thanks Uncle Danny. Don’t look under the old dryer. Mom will die of shame.” Truth.

* Kid 2 has a violin lesson today, and her teacher is going to be pleased (I assume) because Kid 2 has been WORKING IT this week. What a champ.

* It’s sweatshirt weather (which I love) and I still have a tan (which I love, love, love).

* Kid 1 is on her way to Shakespeare Competition, in which she will perform her monologue from “Love’s Labours Lost” which is brilliant and perfect, much like herself.

And that, friends, is why we revise.

Aw! This made me smile the most post! (I know that doesn’t sound right, but it is.) I’m so glad you got a dryer that works and got to eat caramel corn and fudge bars. Mmmm.

Ghostbusters – they’re the dudes with the tools and the talent!

Love me some buttery, carmelly popcorn. And fall weather. And cozy clothes. And being able to face hole in your plot with confidence.

    Your life really is awesome!

Oh, so that’s how I’m supposed to look at life? Through butter-colored glasses. Just whipped up some chicken and gnocchi soup that has way to much butter and waaayyyy too much heavy cream and I’m feeling guilty for clogging my families arteries. Maybe I’ll take your perspective. It’s easy on the guilt.

All wondrous reasons to smile. Loved the one about having big revisions but having the talent to fix them. I need that mindset these days. (Hugs)Indigo

Kid #2’s violin teacher was impressed, just so you know. She’s amazing. Much like you.
