That’s how long 3 loaves of bread last in my house.
Yesterday morning, before I left for my stint as a PTA Mama, I made 3 loaves of bread. That’s a batch. They came out of the oven at 8:25, and I zoomed off to school at 8:45 (which leaves PLENTY of time for eating the crunchy end-piece slathered with honey-butter). When I came home, many hours later to a messy house, lots of Kids had a piece of toast for after-school whole-grain goodness. Then we had sandwiches for dinner – some people had egg salad, which is, to me, an abomination (I’ll make it, you know – just not eat it) and the rest of us had toasted cheese. And this morning, we ate french toast (and if you’ve never had french toast from homemade wheat bread, can I just tell you, “Yum”?) followed by Husband packing the remaining slices with the leftover egg salad for his lunch.
Three loaves down.
It was worth it.

Mmm. Bread is one of my many socially acceptable addictions.

Ooh. Want to make me some? Seriously, bread lasts about that long here, too. Especially of the homemade variety.
