And Thank You Very Much

May 17, 2010 by becca

“Aw, buddy,” his Daddy said, “You’ve been holding on to that cold for too long.”
“It’s time to give it away. Go share it.” Ha. Ha-ha. Ha-ha-ha.

So he gave it to me.

Not the gentle, nose-running cold.

The throat-scraped-raw,
Eyelashes-on-fire
Oh, my hair hurts
Sinus infection
Kind of cold.

And today I can’t talk.
Only sort of squeak, sort of whisper.
And can’t take a sick day, because now Daddy has the flu. (Ha. Ha-ha.)

But it’s pretty quiet around here, just the same.

Ugh… so sorry. I have been a little under the weather too, but have forced my self to go to bed early all week and it really helped. Hope you are up and about soon.

I know it’s gross, but salt water is the best cure and preventative for sinus infections. I used to get about half a dozen sinus infections every year and now NONE.

Those sorts of colds are the absolute worst. So hard to function. Hope it passes quickly for you!

First, I’m truly sorry you’re sick. Second, you made me smile when you said you’d paddle your boat closer to mine so you could splash me. That’s the sign of a friend who gets you. How is it we’ve only met once and yet understand each other so well?

And third, isn’t it sad how QUIET the house gets when MOM loses her voice? Sorta lets me know just who is REALLY responsible for all that noise!!

Ha! I’m so there with you and no we don’t get a day off. I think I’m perfecting my growl when Paul (A man that turns into a whining infant when he’s sick)asks me to wait on him yet again. No matter that I’m sick myself.

Hope your feeling better soon. (Hugs)Indigo

I’m betting daddy wished he didn’t encourage the sharing right about now. 😉

*hugs* Hope you feel better soon, Becca.
