We have a winner…

November 18, 2012 by becca

Randomness has occurred, my friends. Things are happening. I’m telling you what. Sian, congratulations. You win REACHED for your very own (or to arm-wrestle over with your girls, apparently).

More randomness. Ready?

Thanksgiving is this week. I’m bringing mashed potatoes (with cream cheese, of course) and pie (ditto) and rolls. Bring on the white starches. What are you bringing?

Did you see the Steelers’ jerseys tonight? Because, um. Wow. They look like prisoners. Bumblebees. Something weird, I guess. My friend Matt said “Pitts-burglars” and I remembered why I’ve adored him for like 20+ years. Because he’s cleverer than I, and I love people who are cleverer than I.

What should I get my senior in HS for Christmas? She wants grown-up stuff, the kind that prepare a kid for college, and I want to go more along the lines of Little Tykes toys and board books. Know what I’m saying?

Love everything about this post except that I didn’t win. Bummer!
Would love your recipe for mashed potatoes because I’m providing that, my chocolate chip cookie pie, and my sausage/pear/pecan stuffing. Yum.

And I thought the Steeler’s jerseys were crazy. I couldn’t decide if they were completely ridiculous or a little bit cool. I still haven’t decided.

My daughter started BYU this fall. She wanted a kitchenaid mixer last year. Made me so proud!

I saw those uniforms. We thought they’d escaped from a 19th century jail. We half expected to see George Q Cannon sitting on the sidelines. And I definitely want that cream cheese in the potatoes recipe. Cream cheese in anything elevates it by one full kingdom, far as I’m concerned. I intend to smuggle some into heaven for that very reason. As for the gift for your daughter, try things like those cute mix and match dorm room / office organizers, you know, like the bulletin board and the mirror and the pens and the notebooks and the PostIts that all match? Do them in Barbie colors if it helps take the sting out. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, my darling friend!
