I Wrote That?

May 12, 2011 by becca

It happened again.

I wrote this morning, for a while, early… before the crazy 6:15 rush. (Oh, I wish I were kidding.) And then, a few hours later, after the Kids were gone away, I pulled the document back up and looked it over. And I snickered.

Yes. Snickered.

Because it was funny. And a little sarcstic, but just a little. And I had sort of forgotten that part. And it was clever. And I wrote that.

I love it when that happens.

Of course it was funny and sarcastic and clever. Duh! 🙂 I would think early morning writing would be the purest, most unclouded writing you could produce.

I love it when I amuse me. I’ve told you the story of the time I wrote something that had me laughing so loud and hard I finally had to go to bed, on account of NOTHING could possibly be as funny as I thought that writing was, so I must have just been extra tired.

Next day, though? Still pretty dang funny.

I have one line in my WIP that makes me giggle EVERY time. Even after seven rewrites. Even after reading my manuscript dozens of times. LOVE that feeling!

I wrote a marriage proposal once, and actually cried when I reread it later. It is a neat feeling. And can I say YAY!!! I am now the proud owner of MRRO!!! I was so thrilled it was in the mail today! I always love a good book to read over the weekends. Happy, happy am I! =)

Man, I gotta get to this place. Maybe even write now, in fact. (You see how I did that?)
